Tokyo Metropolitan / Tokyo Treasure Islands

Case detail

The Tokyo Treasure Islands Promoting Project was established in March 2017 to rediscover and disseminate wonderful “treasures” such as landscapes, local resources, and special products in the islands area of Tokyo. The residents of the 11 remote islands in Tokyo (Oshima, Toshima, Niijima, Shikinejima, Kozushima, Miyakejima, Mikurashima, Hachijojima, Aogashima, Chichijima, Hahajima) identified their respective island's strengths and characteristics to build a distinctive concept for their own island. While working on this branding and increasing added-value, the Tokyo Treasure Islands Conference took place, where those involved with the branding from the 11 islands gather. This has led to increased activity and exchange between the islands. The symbol that represents the entire Tokyo Treasure Islands was developed and presented by Gramco. The smaller jewels were composed into a gem symbolizing the gathering of 11 islands to further sparkle as they become a treasure together. Our CEO Atsuo Yamada currently serves as the chairman of the committee.
